The club has launched a series of on farm meetups at various herds around the country. These meetups are for club members or anyone interested in the British Friesian breed. These meetups are designed to promote questions and discussion about your own herd, breeding options, and the direction of travel for Irish agriculture.
The third meetup took place in Kilkenny, hosted by Joe Treacy. Joe supplied spectacular sunshine for the chat! Main topic of the day was spring - how each herd had come through and preparations for next spring - BULL SELECTION TIME!
The fourth on farm meetup was on Saturday May 13th, Conor & Riona O'Leary. The weather was glorious and Conor walked us through his experiences with liquid nitrogen application and his calculations. There was a very good discussion on calf quality, and we had a walk through his multi-species swarth. Thank you to Conor, Riona and family for hosting us and keeping up the pattern of dry, bright days for our on-farm meetups!

Our next on-farm meetup will be October 7th in Kerry, hosted by Noel O'Connor & family. We're looking forward to our trip to the Kingdom and you can get directions here on the club's events page.
